PBTCrastin聚對苯二甲酸丁二醇酯，屬于聚酯系列，是由1.4-丁二醇1.4-Butylene glycol與對苯二甲酸PTA或者對苯二甲酸酯DMT聚縮合而成，并經(jīng)由混煉程序制成的乳白色半透明到不透明、結(jié)晶型熱塑性聚酯樹脂。與PET一起統(tǒng)稱為熱塑性聚酯，或飽和聚酯。

PBT又可稱為熱塑性聚酯塑料，為適用于不同加工業(yè)者使用，一般多少會加入添加劑，或與其它塑料摻混，隨著添加物比例不同，可制造不同規(guī)格的產(chǎn)品。由于PBT具有耐熱性、耐候性、耐藥品性、電氣特性佳、吸水性小、光澤良好，廣泛應(yīng)用于電子電器、汽車零件、機械、家用品等，而PBT產(chǎn)品又與PPS、PC、POM、PA等共稱為五大泛用工程塑料。PBT結(jié)晶速度快，最適宜加工方法為注塑，其他方法還有擠出、吹塑、涂覆和各種方面，如二次加工成型，成型前需預(yù)干燥，水分含量要降至0.02%。

PBT是最堅韌的工程熱塑材料之一，它是半結(jié)晶材料，有非常好的化學(xué)穩(wěn)定性、機械強度、電絕緣特性和熱穩(wěn)定性。這些材料在很廣的環(huán)境條件下都有很好的穩(wěn)定性。PBT吸濕特性很弱。非增強型PBT的張力強度為50MPa，玻璃添加劑型的PBT張力強度為170MPa。玻璃添加劑過多將導(dǎo)致材料變脆。PBT的結(jié)晶很迅速，這將導(dǎo)致因冷卻不均勻而造成彎曲變形。對于有玻璃添加劑類型的材料，流程方向的收縮率可以減小，但與流程垂直方向的收縮率基本上和普通材料沒有區(qū)別。一般材料收縮率在1.5%~2.8%之間。含30%玻璃添加劑的材料收縮0.3%~1.6%之間。熔點（225℃）和高溫變形溫度都比PET材料要低。維卡軟化溫度大約為170℃。玻璃化轉(zhuǎn)換溫度（glass trasitio temperature）在22℃到43℃之間。由于PBT的結(jié)晶速度很高，因此它的粘性很低，塑件加工的周期時間一般也較低。
